Fees

Lounsbery Law Office, PC charges only by way of flat fee—not hourly billing.

Disadvantages to hourly billing:  While hourly billing is popular among most lawyers, it is unpopular among most clients.  Hourly billing incentivizes attorneys to do more work, whether or not it benefits the client.  It also means the client has no idea how much he or she will end up having to spend to resolve the legal matter.  For an attorney who charges $300/hour, a 15-minute phone conversation costs the client a whopping $75!  Those bills add up fast!

Advantages to flat fee billing:  The major benefit that clients receive from a flat fee billing model is to know up front what their legal fees will be.  It takes out the guess work and allows the client to relax.  It also encourages attorney-client communication because the client is no longer worried how much a phone call with the lawyer will cost.
